Padma L. Draksharam, M.D., is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. She strives to show compassion and patience, and provide a comprehensive, personalized approach to treatment. Her goal is to guide and comfort her patients through their cancer experience. After working in many environments, she appreciates the importance of having a strong support staff. She is deeply grateful for her fellow colleagues and staff who help her perform at her best. She is optimistic for a future with more answers and options to tackle cancer. With newer treatments such as immunotherapy and other targeted therapies, people with cancer are now treated at the molecular level.
A special moment that touched her the most as a physician came at a difficult moment in Dr. Draksharam’s life. A patient called her to share that she kept Dr. Draksharam in her prayers. Her constant humility and willpower inspired both of them throughout her cancer journey. It also helped Dr. Draksharam motivate others to have hope even in the most challenging moments.
Her parents inspire her by showing her the importance of faith to overcome challenges. In addition to her husband’s resilience and unconditional support, her son’s impeccable humor, never-ending optimism, and motivation also inspire her.
