Education
Dr. Richey received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology in 1998 from Louisiana State University A&M, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his Master of Public Health from the School of Public Health at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans, and his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Richey completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he was chief resident.
Prior to joining Texas Oncology, Dr. Richey completed his hematology/oncology fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he served as chief hematology fellow. While at MD Anderson, Dr. Richey was active in genitourinary cancer clinical research and authored and co-authored numerous articles in peer reviewed journals, as well as presenting at national conferences.

Dr. Richey holds a membership in the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. During his tenure at UT Health Science Center, Dr. Richey received the Dr. Herb Fred Award for Commitment, Compassion, Candor and Common Sense and is a member of the Texas Medical Association, The Herb Fred Medical Society, Inc., the Texas Health Harris Methodist Cancer Committee, the Texas Health Harris Methodist Palliative Care Steering Committee, and the Tarrant County Medical Society. Dr. Richey was selected as a "Top Doc" by Fort Worth, Texas magazine from 2013 to present and has also been named on the Super Doctors® Rising StarsSM list from 2015 to present.
