Texas Oncology–Abilene on Friday dedicated a bell at its clinic that will be rung to celebrate the end of treatment for cancer patients. The donation was made by James Boone and other family members in appreciation for care given to Gene and Charmaine Boone, his parents.

It's no secret that chemotherapy can cause patients to lose their hair, but one Texas doctor let his patients shave his head instead. The goal for Dr. Paul Loar, gynecologic oncologist with Texas Oncology–Austin North, was to find a way to have fun and provide his patients with a laugh.

Several patients and Texas Oncology team members took a turn with the clippers in honor of National Gynecologic and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

After watching her childhood friend battle cancer, Tara Poles wanted to do something to help not only her friend, but all cancer patients in the Flower Mound area undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments. When she began creating gift bags for patients, the last thing she expected was the overwhelming support that came from all sides of the community.
