6/27/2023- DALLAS – Texas Oncology, one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the U.S., announced today its intention to participate in Enhancing Oncology Model (EOM), a significant new value-based care program from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). EOM is a five-year program that begins on July 1, 2023.
6/14/2023- AMARILLO – Texas Oncology has opened a new 50,000-square-foot cancer center in Amarillo, significantly expanding the capacity of the practice to meet the growing need for cancer care in the Texas Panhandle region.
5/17/2023- PITTSBURG – Texas Oncology today announced plans to open a new location in Pittsburg, Texas, adding a strategically located site to its growing practice in East Texas.

2/24/2023- Results of a joint study between Texas Oncology social workers and The University of Texas researchers demonstrate that partners who communicate using the principles of The 5 Love Languages™ led to decreased feelings of depression and anxiety, and increased patient perceptions of their own relationship. Stephanie Broussard, LCSW-S, APHSW-C, director of palliative care and social work at Texas Oncology, shares more about how using their partner’s love language helped cancer patients feel higher relationship satisfaction.

1/26/2023- Texas Oncology released survey results on cancer, body image, and mental health to raise awareness of the way cancer impacts the physical and emotional state of patients. J. Tucker Osteen, M.D., at Texas Oncology–Amarillo Cancer Center, explained how support group services are vital to help patients manage both their personal and professional relationships and shared he is hopeful the research will lead to more discussions about all aspects of cancer care.
1/10/2023- DALLAS (Jan.10, 2023) – New research reveals the physical changes most cancer patients experience have a negative impact on their body image and mental health. The survey, commissioned by Texas Oncology, polled current and former cancer patients from across the southwestern U.S. to better understand the impact cancer has on self perception, body image, and mental and emotional health.
1/9/2023- The physical changes most cancer patients experience can have an impact on their body image and mental health. To better understand these impacts, Texas Oncology surveyed survivors and those currently undergoing cancer treatment and is sharing key survey findings to help raise awareness and spark a conversation that brings greater understanding and validation to the physical, mental, and emotional experience of all cancer patients.
1/4/2023- Developing a list of resolutions – a life plan for the coming year – can help cancer patients envision their path forward, especially while undergoing treatment. Despite the physical and emotional challenges of cancer, it is possible to find a sense of renewal in the new year with a fresh outlook, a desire to try new things, or the urge to restart an old hobby.
12/27/2022- It’s been another year of challenge and progress for our staff, patients, and their loved ones. But the perseverance of our staff and our patients continues to inspire hope and optimism.
