7/18/2024- While receiving radiation treatment from Justin W. Wray, M.D., Ph.D., Texas Oncology-Waco, Fiona Bond, CEO of Creative Waco, was inspired to create a gallery of photography featuring local murals created by students in Creative Waco’s ARTPrenticeship program. The now display in Waco’s radiation wing, exam rooms and waiting room features art projects that Waco residents are familiar with – bringing patients a sense of comfort and community to patients undergoing cancer treatment.

1/24/2024- Cervical cancer rates are increasing among women in their 30s and 40s. This January, cervical cancer awareness month, Texas Oncology shared with KCEN-TV (NBC, Temple) their expertise on this disease and the symptoms women should note that can develop overtime in spotting cervical cancer.
12/21/2023- As we approach the end of another year of great progress and promise in cancer care, I am as hopeful and optimistic as ever. 10/31/2023- “In my 26 years as an oncologist, I’ve seen about five men with breast cancer,” says Carlos A. Encarnación, M.D., FACP, Texas Oncology-Hamilton and Horizon Circle. Dr. Encarnación joins KCEN-TV (NBC, Temple) to talk about the rarity of male breast cancer yet the importance of men recognizing the signs and symptoms to catch the disease early.
10/13/2023- BEAUMONT – Texas Oncology, one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the U.S., marked today the recent opening of its new 32,000 square-foot cancer care center, located on the CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth campus. The new, larger center was built to enable Texas Oncology to provide an enhanced patient experience while meeting the growing need for cancer care in Beaumont and throughout Southeast Texas.

7/2/2023- David Mocio was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma in 2015 and receives immunotherapy every 28 days. David spoke with the Waco Tribune-Herald saying he credits the treatment with saving his life, and studies have shown immunotherapy to be more effective than chemotherapy or radiation therapy against melanoma. Dr. Carlos Encarnacion, Texas Oncology-Hamilton and Horizon Circle shared with the outlet that immunotherapy is one of the biggest advancements in oncology in recent years, and the number of patients treated with immunotherapy has grown exponentially in the past decade.
6/27/2023- DALLAS – Texas Oncology, one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the U.S., announced today its intention to participate in Enhancing Oncology Model (EOM), a significant new value-based care program from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). EOM is a five-year program that begins on July 1, 2023.
