I believe that guiding people back to health is the most impactful thing I can do to give back to those around me."

What inspired you to specialize in cancer care?

I chose to become a doctor because I wanted to dedicate my life to helping people, regardless of their background. I believe that guiding people back to health is the most impactful thing I can do to give back to those around me. I then chose to specialize in oncology for the patient relationships. I love learning about my patient's lives, values, and families.

What are you most looking forward to as cancer treatment continues to evolve?

Oncology is an incredibly exciting area of medicine. With the volume of ongoing research and innovation, the field is constantly advancing. In the future, I am most looking forward to new treatments that can allow patients to live a longer, healthier lives.

What advice would you give someone who is aspiring to be a doctor?

Be passionate. Your patients are enduring the toughest time of their lives.

As a north Houston native, how does it feel to now care for patients in your community?

I couldn’t be happier to be practicing here. As I grew up in this area, I feel as though every patient is part of my family.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

I would love to have unlimited energy – even though it still wouldn’t be enough to keep up with my one-year-old!
