Texas Oncology Expands in Longview with Major Renovation Project

Longview, Texas - Texas Oncology, one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the U.S., announced today a major expansion and renovation of its Longview location. The more than $11 million project will add 3,000 square feet of space to the cancer center located at 1300 N. 4th St., increasing the facility’s size by 11% percent. The project will modernize and expand patient waiting and exam rooms, chemotherapy infusion rooms, and offices, while adding space for new MRI and CT scanners, enhancing the practice’s ability to provide comprehensive care management.

“As the Longview area grows, we are committed to investing in our facilities so that we can meet the growing need for high quality cancer care in our community,” said Larry Frase, M.D., medical director, Texas Oncology–Longview. “With this renovation project, our site will be much larger and redesigned for more efficient clinical functionality to provide an optimal patient experience.”

Construction is expected to be completed in April 2024. During the renovation, the Longview center will operate as usual and without interruption; patients may notice minor, temporary changes during the construction.

“Expanding our Longview location underscores the founding principle of Texas Oncology, which is to provide patients access to high quality and leading-edge cancer care locally, with less overall disruption to their daily lives,” said Steven Paulson, M.D., president, and CEO of Texas Oncology. “We are building a facility and the breadth of clinical expertise to support the cancer care needs of Longview far into the future.”

The larger location will enable Texas Oncology to expand its clinical team in Longview, which currently has 15 physicians providing an array of specialty care, including medical oncologists, hematologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, and blood and marrow transplant care. Texas Urology Specialists, part of Texas Oncology, has four urologists in Longview, located at 802 Medical Circle, suite 400.

Including the Longview location, Texas Oncology’s practice across the East Texas region has 30 physicians, 18 advanced practice providers, and nearly 400 additional clinical and support team members at 15 sites of service – connected to a statewide network of more than 530 physicians and 6,000 employees.

The Longview renovation project is part of a more than $150 million investment by Texas Oncology in capital improvements statewide over the past six years. The practice continues to grow with expanded colorectal, breast, and other surgical specialties, as well as offering more patients access to clinical trials, and a commitment to diagnostic and treatment innovations such as immunotherapy, biomarker testing, precision medicine, proton therapy radiation, and radiopharmaceuticals.
