DALLAS – Texas Oncology’s concerted efforts to enhance its workplace and employee engagement, amid a nationwide healthcare staffing shortage, has earned the practice significant accolades. Texas Oncology was ranked 6th in Texas on this year’s Forbes America’s Best Employers by State list. In addition, Newsweek has included Texas Oncology on its list of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity, and the Talent Board honored the practice with the 2023 Candidate Experience Award.

To create its ranking, Forbes conducted an anonymous survey focused on considerations such as compensation, working conditions, potential for development and diversity. Questions comparing different companies were used to develop state-specific rankings.
The Newsweek ranking was determined by asking survey participants about corporate culture, if they would recommend their employer, work-life balance, training and career progression, and whether companies value diversity.
“At Texas Oncology, we pride ourselves on being inclusive and respectful. We want everyone to feel a strong sense of belonging and collaboration in how we care for patients,” said Ashley Gray, human resources director. “Diverse workplaces ultimately are stronger and more innovative.”
With responsibility for recruiting and hiring, Gray’s team evaluates how candidates regard their application and interview experiences. “Our candidates have reported highly positive interactions with our organization during the process,” said Gray, reflecting the findings of Talent Board in selecting Texas Oncology as one of 50 winners for the 2023 Candidate Experience Award. “Applicants also express willingness to reapply and recommend our company to others.”
