Texas Oncology Opens New Comprehensive Cancer Center in Denton

New facility provides expanded services for patients needing cancer treatment

DENTON, Texas (June 22, 2020) – Texas Oncology announced today the opening of a new, comprehensive cancer center in Denton, combining the Denton North and Denton South locations to provide patients access to medical oncology, hematology, and radiation therapy services, all at one location. Located at 2600 Scripture St., Texas Oncology–Denton was developed by Cambridge Holdings, Inc.

“As the Denton area grows, we are committed to providing needed comprehensive cancer care to the community,” said Sharad Jain, M.D., medical oncologist and medical director, Texas Oncology–Denton. “Our new center is designed for optimal patient care.”

In addition to high-quality cancer treatment capabilities and other specialized care, the new 30,000-square-foot facility includes an on-site pharmacy and laboratory. Other support services available at the new location include genetic risk evaluation and testing, mobile PET/CT imaging, and yoga classes.

As the practice continues to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic, Texas Oncology–Denton also offers telemedicine appointments that include audio, video, and image sharing. Texas Oncology is following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines in every aspect of its response to COVID-19.

“We recognize that receiving a cancer diagnosis and undergoing treatment are challenging in their own right, but due to the ever-evolving status of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is now even more important to deliver cancer care in a welcoming environment that allows for appropriate social distancing,” said Jeffery Morton, M.D., radiation oncologist, Texas Oncology–Denton. “This new center reflects our commitment to our patients now and for many years to come.”

Texas Oncology’s growing Denton practice launched more than 25 years ago and includes an integrated team with five physicians, two advanced practice providers, and nearly 60 clinical and support staff – all connected to the extensive resources of the Texas Oncology’s state-wide network of more than 490 physicians.
