Texas Oncology Plans New, Comprehensive Cancer Center in Fort Worth Medical District

Texas Oncology is in the process of consolidating three existing Forth Worth practices, including the Fort Worth 8th Avenue, Fort Worth 12th Avenue, and Klabzuba locations, into one comprehensive care center in an effort to deliver quality care to patients in one efficient, patient-focused space. The new, comprehensive cancer treatment center is scheduled to open Spring 2018.

Services at the new comprehensive center will include medical oncology, radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology, diagnostics, laboratory testing, research studies, genetic risk evaluation and testing, pharmacy, and infusion. Once the new center opens, patients will benefit from having all services available under one roof.

The three older Texas Oncology facilities will remain open until the new facility at the southwest corner of South Henderson Street and W Peter Smith Street opens.

“The new center brings all aspects of Texas Oncology’s comprehensive care under one roof,” said Dr. Jerry Barker Jr., a radiation oncologist who will work out of the new center. “This consolidation gives Fort Worth patients time back with ones they love and without sacrificing the care they need.”

Texas Oncology’s community-based approach to oncology care enables patients to receive leading-edge treatment while living at home, near the critical support of family and friends.
