A new study from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society found that patients diagnosed with medical conditions could run into financial trouble because of the limitations of short-term insurance policies. According to Debra Patt, M.D., MPH, MBA, medical oncologist and executive vice president at Texas Oncology, legislative action toward price transparency is hindered by limited patient understanding on costs and coverage gaps in the short-term policies.
