Austin Doctor Says Moderation is Key When Eating Processed Meat

According to findings in a World Health Organization study, just 50 grams of processed meat a day, or about 2-3 slices of bacon, increases your risk of some cancers by about 17 percent. Texas Oncology–South Austin’s Dr. Punit Chadha said moderation and balance is key. Dr. Chadha said the information in the study is not exactly new. Studies have pointed to a link between processed meats and cancer for years. Still, he believes this new study is a good reason to re-evaluate your diet.
