11/5/2023 - Over the past 23 years, Mike Rasnick has been diagnosed with three separate types of cancer: cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), squamous cell carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma. With the help of Bartlomiej Posnik, M.D., Texas Oncology–Bastrop, Krishna Patel, M.D., Texas Oncology–Georgetown and Round Rock North, and Courtney Sheinbein, M.D., Texas Oncology–Round Rock North, Mike received several forms of treatment to treat his cancers, including surgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). Despite a complex and challenging triple cancer saga, Mike’s outlook is remarkably positive. “I wouldn’t be alive were it not for Texas Oncology,” says Mike. “The staff was incredible, and I can’t speak highly enough of them – I am profoundly grateful.”

1/22/2023 - In 2022, 65-year-old Julee Ware was diagnosed with stage IIB cervical cancer. Supported by family, friends, and her three beloved rescue dogs, Julee worked hard to look for the hidden blessings in her journey. Guided by her care team, she received radiation, chemotherapy, and brachytherapy treatments—even becoming the first patient at Texas Oncology to undergo the Signatera blood matching program. Julee received a clean bill of health in November, and she credits her Texas Oncology care team with leading her down the road to recovery.

Amber York, breast cancer survivor, shared with KTBC-TV (FOX, Austin) the importance of screenings and early detection after delaying a routine mammogram then learning she had early stage, triple negative breast cancer. York’s physician, Bridget O’Brien, D.O., FACS, FSSO, breast surgical oncologist at Texas Breast Specialists–Georgetown, urges women to prioritize their screenings by sharing that one out of eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

10/23/2020 - Amy Woods, a Texas Oncology patient diagnosed with breast cancer last year with no family history of the disease, advises other women, especially young women, to advocate for themselves and their health concerns. 10/4/2020 - Breast cancer patient Pam Cooper has made it an annual tradition to get her mammogram with her best friend and regularly conducts self-exams. By taking preventative steps, her breast cancer was detected at an early stage. Pam was treated by Courtney Yau, M.D., medical oncologist at Texas Oncology–Georgetown, and Bridget O’Brien, D.O., FACS, FSSO, breast surgical oncologist at Texas Breast Specialists–Georgetown, who commend Pam for being proactive about her health.
