At 36 years old, Sydney Townsend had certain expectations for her first year of motherhood. She was overjoyed with the new addition of her first child, a baby girl, when her world was flipped on its axis after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Under the care of Kathryn Hudson, M.D., hematologist and medical oncologist at Texas Oncology–Austin Central, Sydney embarked on an aggressive treatment plan.
