Texas Oncology Announces Development of 50,000-Square-Foot Comprehensive Cancer Center in Amarillo

The new comprehensive cancer center will provide medical oncology, hematology, gynecologic oncology, radiation oncology, breast radiology, surgical oncology, and colon and rectal surgery services.


Amarillo, Texas (Aug. 10, 2021)Texas Oncology today announced plans to build a new, 50,000-square-foot cancer center in Amarillo, significantly expanding the capacity of the practice to meet the growing need for cancer care in the Texas panhandle region. Located at 8212 West Amarillo Blvd., the new comprehensive cancer center will provide medical oncology, hematology, gynecologic oncology, radiation oncology, breast radiology, surgical oncology, and colon and rectal surgery services. NexCore Group, a healthcare-focused real estate developer, recently purchased 4.85 acres of land for the development of the freestanding center. Construction is set to begin later this year.

In addition to multi-disciplinary cancer care, the new center will provide patients with access to a wide range of clinical trials. As a leader in cancer research, Texas Oncology has helped develop more than 100 FDA-approved cancer therapies. 

Once open, patients and their care teams at the existing Texas Oncology, Texas Oncology Surgical Specialists, and Texas Breast Specialists located at 1000 S. Coulter, Suite 100 in Amarillo, will move to the new facility.
