Maurizio Ghisoli, M.D., is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric hematology oncology. Dr. Ghisoli has special clinical interest in solid tumors (sarcomas of the bone and muscle), leukemia, and lymphomas. His hematologic interests include coagulopathies, thrombophilia, sickle cell disease, and other hereditary red blood cell disorders.
He embraces the challenge of treating people with cancer. It is complex and requires an understanding of multiple areas of health, including physical and emotional. Dr. Ghisoli finds most rewarding the relationship built with patients and loved ones. Helping them navigate a difficult journey and managing such a complex and challenging disease is meaningful. The complexity of cancer patients requires a holistic approach with collaboration of multiple specialties and ancillary professionals. Evidence-based treatment needs to be personalized since each person is a unique individual. He likes to involve loved ones, along with the person with cancer, in the decision-making process.
