Charles Lance Cowey, M.D., is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. Dr. Cowey specializes in advanced skin malignancies and genitourinary cancers (renal cell carcinoma, bladder cancer, and prostate cancer). He is also a clinical researcher contributing to the development of new FDA approved treatments. His areas of clinical research have included melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and kidney cancers. Dr. Cowey’s research has resulted in more than 100 publications and abstracts in a variety of peer-reviewed medical journals and oncology venues.
Dr. Cowey is the co-director of the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center Skin Cancer Treatment and Research Center. He also serves as chair for the Sarah Cannon Research Institute Melanoma Committee. He is active in the American Society of Clinical Oncologists and the Southwest Oncology Group.
