8/23/2020- Houstonians are putting off their routine cancer screenings this year due to fears of catching COVID-19. According to Srinath, Sundararajan, M.D., FACP, of Texas Oncology–Katy and Bellville, however, early detection of cancer is important as early-stage cancer treatments can be shorter, less expensive, and more effective for patients, especially those with higher risk.

5/18/2020- Gury Doshi, M.D., of Texas Oncology–Houston Memorial City, discusses increasing concern that patients are hesitant to undergo cancer screenings during COVID-19. According to Dr. Doshi, patients could miss the advantages of early diagnosis by delaying, which could make cancer more difficult to treat. Texas Oncology is encouraging people to continue being screened, as it's enhanced safety precautions and expanded telemedicine services.
