C. Lance Cowey, M.D., a medical oncologist at Texas Oncology–Baylor Charles A. Dr. Cowey is the co-director of the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center Skin Cancer Treatment and Research Center.  He also serves as the chair for the melanoma committee for the Sarah Cannon Research Institute and is active in the American Society of Clinical Oncologists and the Southwest Oncology Group.

Education

Dr. Cowey received his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, and his medical oncology/hematology training at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Dr. Cowey has a special interest in genitourinary oncology (renal cell carcinoma, bladder cancer, prostate cancer) and melanoma as well as clinical research interest in genitourinary cancers and melanoma.
