B. Scott Cheek, M.D.

General Summary

Brennen Scott Cheek, M.D., specializes in radiation oncology for which he is board certified by the American College of Radiology. He is also board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Areas of particular interest include Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and High Dose Rate Brachytherapy (HDR). Prior to returning home to Dallas to join Texas Oncology at the Baylor - Sammons Cancer Center, he was in practice in Florida, where he developed and implemented the first IMRT program in that region.


Dr. Cheek graduated from Abilene Christian University with a B.S. in Biology in 1990. He received his M.D. from the Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas in 1997. Dr. Cheek completed his clinical and research training in Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2001, where he was also the Chief Resident from 1998-2000.
