Texas Oncology in El Paso Announces Major Expansion, Renovation Project


EL PASO, Texas (Aug. 29, 2022) – Texas Oncology in El Paso is enhancing and modernizing its facilities to better serve patients at four locations, in a more than $35 million dollar renovation and expansion project. Construction will soon be completed at Texas Oncology–El Paso Gateway and is set to begin late this year at Texas Oncology–El Paso Grandview. Renovations at Texas Oncology–El Paso Joe Battle have been completed, while renovation plans for the recently acquired radiation treatment center at Vista Del Sol are being developed.

With this renovation and expansion project, we are investing in making local cancer care better and more accessible for this deserving community, now and into the future,” said Ines Sanchez-Rivera, M.D., medical director of Texas Oncology in El Paso.

Texas Oncology is modernizing its facilities with updated, patient-friendly space configurations, upgraded radiation therapy technology, and other enhancements to improve efficiency and the overall patient experience. Additional and more convenient parking will be added at the 7848 Gateway East and 1901 Grandview Ave. locations. With the additional radiation therapy treatment center at Vista Del Sol, Texas Oncology will have three linear accelerators for administering external beam radiation treatment and two positron emission tomography/computed tomograpy (PET/CT) imaging machines.

  • 5,000-square-foot expansion
  • 12 new exam rooms
  • 10 additional chemotherapy infusion chairs
  • New retail pharmacy

Texas Oncology–El Paso Grandview
  • 3,500-square-foot expansion
  • Seven additional exam rooms
  • New chemotherapy infusion suite; ten additional chemotherapy infusion chairs
  • New retail pharmacy
  • New parking garage
  • Expected completion: August 2023
Texas Oncology–El Paso Joe Battle
  • 2,400-square-foot expansion
  • Four new exam rooms
  • 10 additional infusion chairs
  • Expanded laboratory
  • Expanded lobby
  • Completed: March 2019
Texas Oncology–El Paso Vista Del Sol
  • Linear accelerator
  • Additional PET/CT imaging
  • Expected completion: January 2023
