Sujith R. Puskoor, D.O.

Dr. Sujith Puskoor is a highly trained medical oncologist and hematologist who cares for patients with cancer and blood disorders. His interest in the field began at home when his aunt was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. By early high school, he was volunteering and shadowing in an oncology clinic, and what began as a way to better understand her diagnosis ultimately became a lifelong career.

Born and raised in Texas, Dr. Puskoor studied at Texas A&M University before earning his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He completed his internal medicine training at Baylor Scott & White in Round Rock and his hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Minnesota. During fellowship, he also trained at the M Health Fairview Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders, a specialized center within a federally funded network dedicated to comprehensive care for rare bleeding and clotting disorders.

Dr. Puskoor's research interests include targeted and immune-based therapies for breast, lung, gastrointestinal, prostate, and blood cancers. His work has been presented at national hematology and oncology meetings. He approaches every case as a collaboration, taking the time to make complex information understandable, inviting patients and their families into each decision, and tailoring treatment plans to each patient's goals and priorities.

Dr. Puskoor believes that controlling disease in addition to maintaining quality of life are important, and both considerations carry weight in every treatment plan. Outside the clinic, he enjoys traveling with his family, following football and basketball, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, and discovering new restaurants.
