Sheena Sahota, M.D.

Dr. Sahota is originally from Missouri and attended the six-year medical program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is quadruple board certified in internal medicine, nephrology, hematology, and medical oncology. Dr. Sahota completed her internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at Rush University in Chicago, followed by a hematology and oncology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York. During her training, she developed a strong interest in colorectal and breast cancers.

Following fellowship, Dr. Sahota joined Norwalk Cancer Center, then a Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center affiliate, where she continued her research focused on high-risk breast cancer patients with no evidence of disease receiving tetrathiomolybdate under the mentorship of Dr. Linda Vahdat.

After relocating to California, Dr. Sahota practiced at Stanford Cancer Center South Bay and University Medical Partners, where she primarily treated patients with breast cancer and contributed to multiple phase II and phase III clinical studies, including CompassHER2. She later joined Next Oncology in the Austin area, serving as both principal investigator and sub-investigator on numerous phase I clinical trials. Through this work, she has helped advance new insights in cancer care and treatment development.

Dr. Sahota's current interests include early drug development, particularly strategies to modify the tumor microenvironment, as well as the treatment of lung, colon, and breast cancers. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, traveling the world, and learning more about different cultures, all while cheering on Mizzou!
