About
Charles Kurkul, M.D., is board certified in hematology, internal medicine, and medical oncology. He has a research interest in novel anticoagulation pathways, hepatocellular carcinoma, and quality improvement.
Dr. Kurkul believes that leading-edge care belongs in the community – not only in ivory towers. He strives to bring academic-level medicine closer to home, offering you access to advanced diagnostics, evidence-based treatments, and even early-phase clinical trials. Dr. Kurkul serves as a principal investigator on multiple research studies. His role makes new therapies available without the need to travel far from family and support systems. His approach to patient care is collaborative and thoughtful. He aims to simplify the complex, guide without pressuring, and ensure each treatment plan also reflects the your values. Dr. Kurkul’s work is meaningful in advancing science and problem-solving, but also for the relationships he builds. Outside of the clinic, he chairs a local hospital ethics committee and teaches medical residents. He believes both roles keep him grounded and remind him why the work matters.
