About
Angel Mier-Hicks, M.D., is board certified in hematology, internal medicine, and medical oncology. Truly listening to – not just hearing – his patients reveals key information that guides diagnosis and management. Giving you the space to tell your story builds trust and enhances accuracy in clinical care. It also ensures the treatment plan centers on what matters most to you. Dr. Mier-Hicks hopes to be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and dependable physician who stood by you throughout your journey. He wants you to feel heard, supported, and confident that he is always in your corner.
While in medical school, a close friend was diagnosed with cancer. It was a turning point for Mier-Hicks. It opened his eyes not only to cancer’s physical toll, but to the emotional weight carried by patients and loved ones. During his residency, the human connection with patients left a deep impression. He found profound meaning in being present for patients, as a clinician and a source of empathy and support. These experiences solidified his calling as an oncologist.
His outside pursuits are wide-ranging, including avid gardening, landscaping, home DIY projects, traveling, exploring new places, and falconry. He enjoys cooking, especially experimenting with exotic dishes. His favorite ways to unwind is reconnecting with nature and camping.
