Contact Your Pharmacy
Your physician and the Texas Oncology Pharmacy will work together to fulfill your prescriptions. When your physician determines the best course of treatment, they will send your prescriptions via an electronic prescribing process to our pharmacy team unless otherwise requested by you or your pharmacy benefit manager. By utilizing the Texas Oncology Pharmacy, you can expect that your care and medications are delivered in a timely, comprehensive, and reliable way.
Refills
Our pharmacy contacts patients about refills. We will call a week before you are due to run out of medication. If you have not received a call from our pharmacy within seven days of a refill need, you or an authorized representative may call us and place your refill order at +1 (800) 778-9577.
Auto Refill
In order to have a prescription automatically refilled, a pharmacy staff member will need to speak with you or an authorized representative. You may be asked to complete a short series of questions for the pharmacist to review. Once you are registered for auto refills, our pharmacy can deliver your medications, depending on insurance restrictions, to your home, office, or another destination.
Drug Substitution Protocols
You can count on us to use the most cost-efficient options for you. Occasionally, it may be necessary to substitute generic drugs for brand-name drugs. This could occur for several reasons, including but not limited to your insurance coverage or a co-pay reduction. If that is the case, rest assured that we will contact you prior to shipping any medication and to inform you of the substitution. When available, our pharmacy will default to generic medications to save you money. We will use brand name medication at your or your prescriber’s request.
Obtaining Drugs Not Available at Texas Oncology
There are very few drugs that Texas Oncology cannot obtain on your behalf. These drugs are usually restricted by the manufacturer or insurance companies to just one or two pharmacies in the nation. Our pharmacy team will work with all parties to ensure you get the medication that is part of your oncology treatment plan.
We strive to provide our patients with the highest quality of service and care. To ensure we continue to provide that caliber of care, we periodically survey our patients to learn how we can improve the patient experience.
If you are happy with your care at Texas Oncology Pharmacy, we would love to learn what went well. If it did not meet your expectations, we would love to hear how we can improve moving forward. Consider taking our patient satisfaction survey below.
