Community Service
While in Austin, Dr. Jaramillo has participated in outreach efforts to improve the cancer education in the community. She also participates in a Spanish-language radio program to increase awareness of cancer and cancer treatment in the Latino community of Austin.
Dr. Jaramillo is a proud member of the Susan G. Komen® Austin grant review panel since 2016. By serving in this role, she helps appropriately allocate funds that help breast cancer patients and survivors.
Research Interest
Dr. Jaramillo is interested in all tumor types and has a special interest in lung, colon, and breast cancer. She values all aspects of patient care and pays particular attention to the psycho-social impact of cancer on a patient.
She will complete a master's degree in public health in order to become more involved in health policy matters as our healthcare system evolves. Her goals center around improving health care access to patients of disadvantaged backgrounds in order to eliminate health disparities.

Dr. Jaramillo was born in Bogota, Colombia and was raised in Los Angeles, California. She is a native Spanish speaker. She enjoys traveling to other countries and experiencing different cultures. She loves food and music and believes that these are the greatest unifiers across cultures.
