Education
Dr. Ryan completed both a medical doctorate and Ph.D. at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, NY, in 1994 with her Ph.D. in breast cancer biology. Dr. Ryan completed her internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship in 2000 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. She subsequently was on the faculty of Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, and Fox Chase Cancer Center, where she was a member of the breast oncology care teams. At Fox Chase Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, she co-led the multi-disciplinary breast cancer program. Dr. Ryan also has extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of women with elevated risk of breast cancer and led the Breast/Ovary Cancer Risk Evaluation Centers at both Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Dr. Ryan has conducted several clinical trials evaluating novel treatments for breast cancer and has authored numerous manuscripts on various topics in breast cancer and cancer genetics. She is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
