Laith Abushahin, M.D., is a board-certified medical oncologist, specializing in gastrointestinal malignancies and soft tissue sarcomas. Dr. Abushahin received his medical degree from the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan. He also completed a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Abushahin is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research Tumor Microenvironment Working Group, American Cancer Clinical Research, and National Cancer Institute Gastrointestinal Interest Group. He also served as co-leader of the pancreatic cancer multidisciplinary clinic at The Ohio State University, focusing on investigator-initiated trials in pancreatic cancer and soft tissue sarcomas.
Recognized for this clinical experience, Dr. Abushahin was named “Academic Teacher of the Year” at the University of Iowa and received “The Division of Medical Oncology Award” for his work in pancreatic cancer research by The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
