He also served as co-leader of the pancreatic cancer multidisciplinary clinic at The Ohio State University, focusing on investigator-initiated trials in pancreatic cancer and soft tissue sarcomas.

Recognized for this clinical experience, Dr. Abushahin was named “Academic Teacher of the Year” at the University of Iowa and received “The Division of Medical Oncology Award” for his work in pancreatic cancer research by The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

Dr. Abushahin looks forward to working on the development of comprehensive sarcoma and gastrointestinal malignancy clinical trials at Texas Oncology that can provide individualized therapy options to patients while contributing to the nation’s leading-edge cancer research.
