General Summary

He received his undergraduate degree from Washington State University, graduating summa cum laude in 1996. Prior to his undergraduate studies, he served four years active duty in the U.S. Army, serving as a Russian voice interceptor in the Second Armored Division at Fort Hood, Texas. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston receiving his medical doctorate in 2002.

He served an additional 16 years as a physician in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, Dr. Renshaw served as the Medical Director of Bone Marrow Transplant Services at Wilford Hall Medical Center and San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). He also served as the Training Program Director for the largest medical oncology fellowship program in the Department of Defense.

Dr. Renshaw was deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During this time, he served as an intensivist in the intensive care unit at Bagram Air Base, the largest joint operations theater hospital in Afghanistan where he cared for numerous patients with severe illnesses and combat-related injuries. Prior to retiring from the military, he reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He has a special interest in benign and malignant hematology such as acute and chronic leukemias, lymphomas, bleeding and clotting disorders as well as a variety of cancers including cancers of the lung, gastrointestinal cancers, breast and others.
