Texas Oncology Expands Cancer Care in Borderplex Region with Addition of Surgical Oncology Services
EL PASO, Texas (October 24, 2024) – Texas Oncology, which treats more than 3,000 patients in the Borderplex community each year, is now offering surgical oncology services, with the addition of Ioannis Konstantinidis, M.D., FACS, FSSO, an established surgical oncologist with nearly two decades of experience, to the physician team. Dr. Konstantinidis is now seeing patients at Texas Oncology Surgical Specialists–El Paso Gateway.
Dr. Konstantinidis focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of cancers and diseases of the hepatobiliary tract, pancreas, peritoneum, and stomach, as well as skin and soft tissue cancers, retroperitoneal sarcomas, and conditions of the adrenal glands, gallbladder, small bowel, and spleen.

Dr. Konstantinidis is board certified in general surgery and complex general surgical oncology, which includes advanced procedures such as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and minimally invasive, robotic surgeries, giving El Pasoans increased access to specialized surgical care. He is also a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology Gastrointestinal Disease Site Work Group and an examiner for the American Board of Surgery Complex General Surgical Oncology and General Surgery Exams.
