Dr. Fleischauer grew up in Little Rock, AR and attended Hendrix College and Oxford University.  He received his M.D. from the University of Arkansas in 2001. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Arkansas, followed by a chief residency at the John McClellan VA Medical Center in Little Rock. Dr. Fleischauer then completed a fellowship in medical oncology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Prior to returning to North Texas, Dr. Fleischauer was in private practice in his hometown of Little Rock.

Dr. Fleischauer currently serves as the President of the Medical Staff at Texas Health Arlington Memorial and previously has chaired the Quality and Peer Review, Credentials, Ethics, and Cancer Committees at the hospital.

Within Texas Oncology, Dr Fleischauer serves as Chief Compliance Officer for the organization, Area Medical Director for Arlington/Mansfield, and sits on the Texas Oncology Board of Directors.

Dr Fleischauer holds a membership in the American Society of Clinical Oncology where he previously served as a member of the Career Development and Publications committees. He also belongs to the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and the Texas Medical Society. He served as president of the Arlington Medical Society from 2012-2013.
