General Summary
Brano Djenic, M.D., is a double board-certified and fellowship-trained colon and rectal surgeon serving the city of San Antonio. Dr. Djenic grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where he completed high school, undergraduate and medical education. During medical school, he spent time volunteering at numerous shelters in San Antonio and South Texas as well as a medical mission in Eastern Europe. He then spent time in Arizona, Oregon and Indiana at nationally and internationally-known academic institutions where he trained in general and colorectal surgery.
He is the latest addition to the Texas Oncology Surgical Specialists team in San Antonio, along with three other colon and rectal surgeons, and many supporting and highly specialized medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, geneticists, gynecologic oncologists, and surgical/breast oncologists. He works closely with local gastroenterologists, gynecologists, internists and primary care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide individualized, evidence-based and compassionate care to each patient.
As a former surgical patient and a family member of colon cancer patients, Dr. Djenic prioritizes patient education, interpersonal communication, patient autonomy and cost-containment in his practice.
As a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon, he provides a broad spectrum of treatments for colon, rectal and anal disorders — both benign and malignant (see list below) — using latest minimally invasive techniques (robotic and laparoscopic surgery), traditional operations, office-based procedures and outpatient procedures.
Dr. Djenic will see any new outpatient consult in 1-2 business days and any inpatient consult will be evaluated and treated the same day.
He is looking forward to collaborating with other providers to make our community a better place for all colorectal ailments.
