Allison-Jones-Frisco-Centennial

Allison is deserving of this nomination for numerous reasons. Not only because of her efficiency in keeping up with a very busy physician in our clinic, but also because of the consistency in her positive- team player attitude, attention to detail, and the fun, positive energy she brings each day as well. No matter how busy she is, I know I can call on her for help and she would do anything she could to assist- and with a smile. Her patients and the staff here are very lucky to have her. Together Allison and the other exceptional MA's have created such a great team here at Frisco and I feel lucky to be working alongside them.

Chauncey Lanier, CMA

Texas Oncology-Lewisville Castle Hills

Texas Oncology-Lewisville Castle Hills

Chauncey is our wonderful infusion room medical assistant with an unlimited amount of job duties in the infusion room (and many that don't necessarily belong to him in other areas, but do them anyway, because he is a people server). Sometimes incidents happen in the medical world that can un-nerve the calmest of nurses, Chaucey has an amazing way of taking over the chaotic situation to keep the "calm" in the infusion room. He starts music on the speaker to set up for a calm and "easy-going" day, walks every patient from the lobby to the infusion room while talking to them to alleviate any anxieties they may have. Chauncey has an amazing way of getting to know all the patients on a human basis instead of being a cancer diagnosis. He shows empathy by getting to know patients, their families, hobbies, jobs and personal stresses. He even knows what patients will ask for a pillow, blanket, their favorite drinks or favorite snacks and has it waiting for them before they sit down. He works with 3 somewhat "difficult" women who all have different personalities, likes and stress triggers. Chauncey is always prepared to put out any fires by always having supplies well stocked and available, our favorite candy and even takes the gloves out of the boxes for easy quick access! Chauncey is a people pleaser and always volunteers to help anyone in need and is highly deserving of this award!

Laura Gleason, NRCMA

Texas Oncology-Abilene

Laura-Gleason-Abilene

I am honored to nominate Laura, a dedicated and compassionate medical assistant, for the Sunflower Award. Laura consistently demonstrates exceptional skill, professionalism, and a deep sense of empathy in her role, making a profound impact on both her patients and colleagues. From the moment patients walk into the office, Laura's warmth and positive demeanor make them feel welcome and cared for. Her ability to listen attentively, address concerns, and provide support during often stressful times is truly remarkable. She always takes the time to explain procedures clearly, ensuring that every patient feels heard and understood. It’s evident that Laura's commitment goes beyond simply completing her duties; she builds relationships with patients, making them feel valued as individuals. Laura's clinical expertise is outstanding. She handles her responsibilities with precision and efficiency, from taking vital signs to assisting with complex medical procedures. She remains calm and focused, even in high-pressure situations, and is always ready to lend a hand to her colleagues. Her knowledge and proactive attitude make her a trusted resource within the team, and she never hesitates to share her expertise with others. Moreover, Laura's ability to go above and beyond is seen in her willingness to help anyone, regardless of the task at hand. She stays late when needed to ensure patients are taken care of or to assist with administrative tasks. Her kindness and thoughtfulness make her an invaluable part of the team, and it is clear that her presence uplifts the entire work environment. Laura’s dedication, compassion, and professionalism make her a shining example of what it means to be a medical assistant. I can think of no one more deserving of the Sunflower Award than Laura. She truly makes a difference in the lives of her patients and those around her, and I am grateful for her exceptional care and service.
