Bridget O'Brien, D.O., FACS

General Summary

Dr. O'Brien is a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist with over 8 years of post-fellowship experience. After completing her fellowship and prior to relocating to Texas, she expanded her clinical experience as a surgeon and assistant professor at a community-based academic hospital in Columbus, OH. She continued to educate surgical residents and students through the Seton Breast Clinic/Dell Medical School through 2022.

Dr. O'Brien treats female and male benign and malignant breast conditions including fibrocystic disease, fibroadenoma, nipple discharge, gynecomastia, abscess, mastitis, diabetic mastopathy, breast cancers, Phyllodes tumor, and breast sarcoma. She performs minimally-invasive office procedures including ultrasound-guided biopsy and aspiration as well as the full range of operative breast surgical oncology procedures.

Dr. O’Brien actively teaches other surgeons through regional, national and international courses on these Hidden Scar™ and Oncoplastic techniques to close the defect left behind from the removal of breast cancer. This can significantly reduce the cosmetic defect and changes often experienced with breast conservation surgery. She also works side-by-side with microsurgery fellowship-trained plastic surgeons to offer Oncoplastic closure after a partial mastectomy/lumpectomy (breast reductions/lift) and implant-based and autologous flap-based reconstruction, including DIEP flaps, when associated with the treatment of breast cancer.
