Colorectal specialties as individual as you
At Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists, we are experts at treating colorectal conditions as they specifically pertain to women such as pelvic floor disorders, fecal incontinence, constipation, prolapse and additional colorectal disorders.
Preventive colonoscopy screenings are the most accurate method in the detection of colorectal-related health issues. Many conditions affecting both men and women are easily treated when detected early, including inflammatory bowel disease, hemorrhoids, diverticulitis, and colorectal cancer. Factors including age and family history are taken into consideration when developing each patient’s individualized treatment plan.
Advanced patient recovery protocols
Founded on a commitment to provide quality outcomes for our surgery patients, Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists have instituted forward-thinking protocols for quicker recovery. We are one of the first colon care practices to implement innovative protocols to help patients recover quickly. These enhanced recovery protocols help patients reduce the length of their hospital stay and have been proven to reduce complications and contain healthcare costs.
Shortened hospital stays
Advanced recovery protocols can contribute to shorter hospital stays, allowing patients a quicker return to regular activities. Through the use of these protocols, patients often go home from major colorectal surgery in as few as two days. We constantly monitor outcomes and analyze data to improve each recovery pathway. Ask your colorectal specialist if you qualify for this advanced recovery pathway.
Achieving Stronger Outcomes
Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among men and women in the United States. If detected early, colon cancer can be cured.
Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists are actively engaged in helping patients beat the odds and achieve stronger outcomes. Our colorectal specialists perform more than 12,000 colonoscopies every year.
According to the American Cancer Society, the risk of colorectal cancer increases between ages 40 to 50, and as a result, it is recommended that a colonoscopy cancer screening be performed no later than 45 (and possibly earlier depending on health and family history).
