Bridget O'Brien, D.O., FACS

Bridget O'Brien, D.O., FACS, is board certified in general surgery. Dr. O'Brien is a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist with more than 10 years of post-fellowship experience. She treats a wide range of female and male benign and malignant breast conditions. Dr. O’Brien has taught other surgeons through regional, national, and international courses on Hidden Scar™ and oncoplastic techniques. These close the defect left behind from the removal of breast cancer. This can significantly reduce the cosmetic defect and changes often experienced with breast conservation surgery. She works side-by-side with fellowship-trained microvascular plastic surgeons to offer oncoplastic closure after a partial mastectomy/lumpectomy (breast reductions/lift). Other situations include symmetry procedures and implant-based and autologous flap-based reconstruction, including DIEP flap reconstruction.

She chose breast surgical oncology because it beautifully combines her passions for surgery, women's health, and cancer prevention. She finds deep fulfillment in empowering people through education. Dr. O’Brien helps them understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they can make informed decisions. She also values the unique opportunity this surgical niche offers to build long-term relationships with women, alongside their cancer journey.
