About
Jefferson B. Hurley, M.D., FACS, FASCRS, is board certified in colon and rectal surgery. A native of Dallas, he began his career in general surgery as a missionary surgeon in Nigeria, West Africa. During his mission, he had the unique opportunity to perform abdominal operations in a challenging setting. These included orthopedic, urologic, gynecologic, and head and neck surgeries. Returning to the United States, Dr. Hurley focused on colorectal surgery during his fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Hurley enjoys taking care of people, helping guide people through difficult times in their lives. He takes a collaborative, personal approach to treating people. He listens to their wishes and views, while also educating them on the current best practices and techniques. Dr. Hurley is an expert and teacher of complex robotic colorectal surgery, which enables quicker recoveries from major surgery.
Outside of work, he enjoys reading, weight-training, yoga, cycling, walking, hiking, and generally being outdoors.
