Texas Urology Specialists, part of Texas Oncology, Expands in North Texas with Addition of USMD Urology Care Team

Texas Urology Specialists, part of Texas Oncology, one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the U.S., announced today that the urology care team at USMD is joining the practice, effective March 1. This expansion adds 13 physicians, five advanced practice providers, and more than 45 support staff members to Texas Urology Specialists, along with four locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The more than $11 million project will add 3,000 square feet of space to the cancer center located at 1300 N. 4th St., increasing the facility’s size by 11% percent.

Texas Oncology Opens New Comprehensive Cancer Center in Beaumont

BEAUMONT – Texas Oncology, one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the U.S., marked today the recent opening of its new 32,000 square-foot cancer care center, located on the CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth campus. The new, larger center was built to enable Texas Oncology to provide an enhanced patient experience while meeting the growing need for cancer care in Beaumont and throughout Southeast Texas.

Texas Oncology Expands in Rio Grande Valley to Provide Surgical Oncology Services

Texas Oncology, one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the U.S., announced today the expansion of its services in the Rio Grande Valley region to include surgical oncology, with the addition of Vijian Dhevan, M.D., MBA, FACS to the physician team. Dr. Dhevan is board-certified in general surgery and has expertise in surgical oncology, as well as bariatric, pediatric (non-oncology procedures), and robotic surgery.

New Law Clears the Way for Expansion of Lifesaving Biomarker Testing in Texas

DALLAS – A new bill taking effect on Sept. 1 will expand lifesaving biomarker testing in Texas, helping connect cancer patients with new therapies that are more targeted and effective, especially in cases of advanced disease. Texas Oncology joined with other leading cancer care advocacy groups to encourage passage of Senate Bill 989, which was signed into law on May 30 and requires health insurance companies to cover biomarker testing. Texas is the 11th state to expand access to biomarker testing.

Texas Oncology Expands Radiation Therapy Services With Vista del Sol Location Opening

Texas Oncology, one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the U.S., announced today the expansion of its radiation therapy services in El Paso with the opening of Texas Oncology–El Paso Vista Del Sol. Texas Oncology acquired the radiation treatment assets at this location from Del Sol Medical Center last summer. Following a renovation project, the location has re-opened and is providing treatment to patients whose cancer treatment plans include radiation therapy.

Texas Oncology to Participate in Enhancing Oncology Model, New Medicare Value-Based Care Program

DALLAS – Texas Oncology, one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the U.S., announced today its intention to participate in Enhancing Oncology Model (EOM), a significant new value-based care program from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). EOM is a five-year program that begins on July 1, 2023.
