Texas Oncology-Deke Slayton Cancer Center was named after Mr. Deke Slayton, known by many as the "father figure for the original seven astronauts." Mr. Slayton was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 1992 and succumbed to his illness in 1993. Due to Mrs. Bobbie Slayton's interest in quality cancer care, she was approached by Texas Oncology in 2000 and agreed to allow the cancer center to bear Mr. Slayton's name.

We treat all types of cancer, from the most prevalent forms such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, skin cancer and lung cancer to any of more than 200 forms of cancer identified by the medical community. We offer a full range of leading-edge treatment options at high levels of care and convenience. We strive to bring brighter futures to cancer patients and help improve cancer survival rates.
