Justin and Katie Ozuna, LMSW, OSW-C, OPN-CG have faced life-threatening adversity, individually and as a couple. Justin’s chronic myeloid leukemia diagnosis sent him into a tailspin of failed therapies, clinical trials, social setbacks and physical limitations. Despite these challenges, he went from a 3 times college dropout to the Director of Communications for an oncology group focused on improving the lives of young adults with cancer. Katie’s role as a first-time caregiver inspired her to pursue a career in oncology. As a licensed oncology social worker, she now helps cancer patients navigate life after medical treatment ends and is building the first psychosocial support program at her institution.
