Texas Oncology is one of the inaugural practices to participate in Humana’s newly launched Oncology Model of Care Program. The program aims to improve the patient experience and health outcomes for patients with new or recurrent cancer diagnoses, through provider delivery of coordinated, cost-effective care that reduces duplicative and avoidable services. This includes more integrated cancer care for Humana Medicare Advantage and commercial members.
Texas Oncology has embraced value-based care to help ensure patients get care that is clinically effective and aligns with their values while being mindful of cost. This includes participating in value-based care programs from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as well as with private insurers, like Humana.
At Texas Oncology, our patient-centered approach means we treat the whole patient, not just the tumor. Through a value-based care model, our priority is ensuring the best patient outcomes and a better overall journey while avoiding unnecessary costs. It’s an honor to participate in Humana’s national effort to improve the patient experience through this value-based care oncology program.”
