The Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group (PTCOG) Conference

June 14, 2018

The Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group (PTCOG) conference is an event that takes place in North America once every four years where field experts are invited to give educational lectures.

Our own Dr. Andrew Lee was invited to give an educational lecture on proton therapy for genitourinary cancers, while Dr. Chang Chang shed light on Texas Center for Proton Therapy’s comprehensive approach to motion migration.

During his presentation, Dr. Chang highlighted Texas Center for Proton Therapy’s pencil-beam scanning capability, which combines the latest technologies available (i.e. 4D robust optimization, CBCT, Monte Carlo dose calculation) to enable better proton treatment of tumors in the thorax and upper abdomen (e.g. lung, liver, pancreas). As one of only a few centers in the country to offer this type of highly specialized proton therapy learn more about how it works – and how it benefits patients.
