Texas Center for Proton Therapy was awarded a gold medal in this year’s American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Texas Engineering Excellence Awards, held to honor and recognize outstanding achievements within the engineering community.
With the latest-generation proton therapy technology and one of the nation’s most experienced clinical teams, Texas Center for Proton Therapy received the Eminent Conceptor Award – the top honor in the state of Texas. After breaking ground in May 2013, the now 63,000-square-foot completed center can treat more than 100 patients per day between three treatment rooms and is the first stand-alone LEED-Certified proton therapy center in the U.S. The advanced technology at Texas Center for Proton Therapy includes pencil-beam scanning and image guided proton therapy, designed to treat tumors with extreme precision and create more hope for cancer patients.
Other projects up for consideration included the Dallas Cowboys Headquarters and Training Facility, as well as the Dallas Love Field Modernization. Last year, the Eminent Conceptor Award went to Walter P Moore & Associates for its work on the Kyle Field redevelopment project.
