Texas Oncology Expands Leadership Team to Fuel Future Growth of Physician-Led Practice


DALLAS, Texas — Texas Oncology today announced new executive directors to lead regional and administrative functions for the state’s largest community-based cancer treatment practice. Eight executive directors, all with extensive cancer care management expertise and significant experience with Texas Oncology, will help guide patient care and practice operations as Texas Oncology continues its rapid growth.

“We place a high priority on management skills combined with compassion for cancer patients in putting this experienced team in place,” said Dr. Steve Paulson, president and chairman of Texas Oncology. “As our practice continues to grow, we constantly look for ways to better deliver on our mission of providing leading-edge cancer care to communities across Texas,” he said.

The executive directors who will oversee practices in Texas Oncology’s service regions are:
  • Joni Bobotas – Dallas region. Bobotas, most recently practice director of Texas Oncology–Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center, is assuming responsibility for 20 Texas Oncology practice locations in the greater Dallas area.
  • Amy Berliner – Dallas-Fort Worth West region. Berliner will oversee Texas Oncology practices at Methodist Dallas and Methodist Charlton as well as Texas Oncology locations in Waxahachie, Ennis, and 23 practices in the mid-cities, Tarrant county, and communities immediately west of Fort Worth.
  • Glenn Noble – Northeast Texas region. Returning to Texas Oncology, Noble most recently served as executive director of The US Oncology Network practices in Chicago. In his new role, Noble will oversee practices in Collin and Denton counties, East Texas, and Southeastern Oklahoma.
  • Tammy Sayers – Central and South Texas region. Sayers has served as executive director of Texas Oncology’s Central and South Texas practices since 1996 and will continue to oversee 20 practices from Waco to the greater Austin area to the Rio Grande Valley.
  • Timothy Skelly – West Texas region. Skelly was previously the practice director of Texas Oncology–South Austin and Texas Oncology–San Marcos. As executive director of the West Texas region, Skelly will oversee practices in the Abilene, Wichita Falls, Midland/Odessa, Amarillo, and El Paso areas.
  • Kevin Vineyard – Gulf Coast region. Vineyard will oversee practices in the Houston and Beaumont areas. Most recently, he served as regional finance director for The US Oncology Network’s Central Region.
Texas Oncology also promoted two executives to new positions as executive directors:
  • Chris Henderson – executive director, payer and public health relations. Henderson has been with Texas Oncology for 17 years, serving in a number of capacities related to managed care, payer relations, and revenue cycle management. In this newly-created role, Henderson will focus on developing and strengthening relationships with insurers, major employers, healthcare policy makers, and hospitals across the practice.
  • Christine Hall – executive director, revenue cycle operations. Previously director of revenue cycle for the US Oncology Network, Hall will lead initiatives to improve payment processes including the implementation of new technologies to enhance overall practice operations.
