Plasma from one donor who has fully recovered from COVID-19 contains the antibodies needed to potentially help one to three patients get over the virus, according to Jeff Yorio, M.D., hematologist and medical oncologist at Texas Oncology–Austin Central. Dr. Yorio worked with We Are Blood to treat four of Austin’s sickest COVID-19 patients, who have been among the first to try this path toward recovery.
