Three years ago, new mother Sydney Townsend began a journey no mom dreams of enduring. Just three shorts months after giving birth to her first daughter, caught in the middle of enjoying all of the firsts as a mom, Sydney’s life took a new path as she was diagnosed with leukemia. With the help and guidance of, Kathryn Hudson, M.D., medical oncologist at Texas Oncology–Austin Central, both were hyper-focused on doing the best they could so that Sydney could be present and a wonderful mom to Maxine. Three years later, Sydney is sharing her story of motherhood, cancer survivorship, and how she overcame the odds.
