Oncology's Telehealth Growth in the COVID-19 Pandemic

On a webinar hosted by the Community Oncology Alliance (COA) with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), several physicians including Debra Patt, M.D., MPH, MBA, medical oncologist and executive vice president of Texas Oncology, commended the CMS response and discussed changes in their own practices. Dr. Patt said the progressive changes from CMS have allowed Texas Oncology to dramatically reduce the volume of patients coming into their clinics, making those clinics safer spaces for the high-risk cancer patients that still need to physically go to healthcare settings to get active treatment and the healthcare providers administering that care.
