J. Ernest Sims

Managing Director

J. Ernest Sims serves as managing director of Texas Oncology. He is actively involved in physician recruiting, development and strategic planning for the practice and works closely with the Texas Oncology executive committee and board of directors. He joined Texas Oncology in 1987 as the director of finance and has served as its chief financial officer, executive director and chief operating officer.

Prior to joining Texas Oncology, Sims served as a certified public accountant and senior manager for Arthur Andersen & Co., providing services to clients in healthcare, regulated industries, and technology. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and his Master of Business Administration from University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.

Mr. Sims currently serves on the board of directors of Leukemia Texas and is a lifetime board member of the North Texas chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. He has previously served as a board member, treasurer, and chair of the North Texas chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and as a board member and chair of the finance committee of Good Shepherd Episcopal School.
