Texas Center for Interventional Surgery

The Texas Center for Interventional Surgery offers comprehensive interventional radiology services and is designed for patient comfort and convenience.

Our interventional radiologists provide patients minimally invasive, image-guided techniques. They use small catheters or other devices guided by X-ray, ultrasound or computed tomography (CT) imaging to diagnose and treat conditions. These procedures offer patients smaller incisions, no overnight hospital stays, and minimal pain.

  • Aspira Catheters: Permanent drainage for chronic malignant ascites or pleural effusions
  • Biliary Stents: For treatment of malignant strictures
  • Biopsies: All locations with some limitations for lung
  • Central Lines: Both tunneled and non-tunneled central venous access, including hemodialysis access and ports
  • Chemo Embolization and Bland Embolization: Catheter-directed therapy for HCC and metastic disease
  • Cryoablation: For treatment of tissue with extreme cold
  • Fiducial Markers: For radiation oncology planning
  • IVC Filters: Placement and removal
  • Kyphoplasty: Treatment of pathologic and benign compression vertegral fractures
  • Nephrostomy/Ureteral Stents: Drainage of kidney for malignant or benign obstruction
  • Paracentesis/Thoracentesis: Removal of fluid from abdominal/chest cavity
  • PICC Lines: Single, dual and triple lumen CT compatible venous access
  • Ports: Placement, revision, replacement and removal
  • Radiofrequency Ablation: Kidney, liver and bone
  • Transjugular Liver Biopsy: Tissue biopsy with evaluation of portal pressures
